Kids and their kind words :’)

I cooked way too much pasta for Gabe & I today. It’s a new pack I got & I thought it wouldn’t be enough for us. It turns out to be more than we’ll consume. While we were having lunch, my young friends (plastic garbage collectors) dropped by looking for what they can get. Having way too much, I gave them a plate of lunch & water. They’ve always been polite & charming. But today is the 1st time they told me, “Maraming, maraming salamat po. Salamat po. Pagpalain po kayo ng Diyos.” In English: Thank you very much. Thank you. May God bless you.

It melts my heart because I don’t think a deed like this deserves as much appreciation because the real challenge is when you have enough and you have to share. In this case, we had too much that’s why I shared. God is so good to strengthen those boys as they endure life through hard work. May they never forget the help they get and Who enables the people who help them. May they really know God for who He is and how much He really loves them — beyond meals and water. May their early perseverance bless them and may it lead to receiving the life the Lord Jesus prepared for them.

Don’t rob the poor just because you can, or exploit the needy in court. For the Lord is their defender. He will ruin anyone who ruins them. (Provers 22:22-23)

Praise God for random, wonderful days like this! :) May I not forget to teach Gabe how beautiful life is in having all the you need & knowing God is the greatest gift of life!
